Update on husband

Hello to everybody. I wanted to give a quick update on my husband. The neurologist confirmed that he not only had one stroke - but two. (He must be magic, because he did this without even LOOKING at the actual MRI.)

We are going through all sorts of testing to make sure his blood does not clot abnormally, and to make sure he doesn't have MS (very unlikely).

This has been an ordeal. And to think it all started with "Bell's Palsy". We have concluded it was a great thing he got Bell's Palsy - or else we wouldn't have found out about the 2 old strokes...

Thanks for being so patient with me. All of your emails have meant so much.

Mesquite TX Chamber Breakfast Round-Up

Last Wednesday, I went to the Mesquite Texas Chamber of Commerce Round-Up. What a great time! I never knew there would be so many writers in a group of about 50 people.

I want to take this time to thank the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce and Waterford, who hosted the event. (If you are looking for a retirement community in Mesquite Texas, this is the place to go!) We had such a tasty breakfast and a great speaker.

Due to some unforeseen events, the past couple of weeks have been very slow when it comes to www.ebooKarma.com. That is okay though! I have been able to do some great market research.

While slow, the progress has been amazing. We will soon be adding a page called, "Make Money" that will show everybody exactly what they can do to make money from the site. It is truly an opportunity for everybody - not just writers!

Plus, we are in the process of creating a writing contest where the grand prize will be $500! There will be a winner in every category, and the grand prize winner will receive the money. The winner in each category will receive business cards that has their unique link on them so they can give them to people to go and buy their book! (Plus, of course, have the bragging rights!) More on this is definitely coming soon!

Also, we have toyed with this idea and it is a grand one! On www.ebooKarma.com, there is the option for people to review your book. The person with the most reviews each month will receive 80% of their commission instead of the great 50% that is normally given! This one is still in the works, we have to make sure the percentages all work out after affiliate money is paid out.

We are trying to set up the affiliate program, but apparently, we don't know how to create a banner. We sure thought we were doing it right - I mean, a JPEG is a JPEG is a JPEG, right?!

Well, after this headache is over, it is going to be a really cool program. Of course, there will be affiliate sales (of 20%), but it also involves purchasing some very inexpensive business cards that will have the affiliates url on them. This way, all cards will look the same, we will have a unified front being presented to the world, and everybody will win!
